- 1819  Locations of Two Hundred Acres will be made, upon their undertaking to begin their Settlement Duty within One Month after receiving the Certificate of Location, and continuing the same, until a Dwelling House be erected, and Ten Acres cleared adjacent to the Road, and one half of the Road in front of the Location also cleared.
- 1840  Settlers will be required to clear, and place once under crop, one third of the land located, and to reside on the land until this settlement duty is performed.
- 1882  The usual homestead and pre-emption can be secured, and in addition to this the odd numbered sections can be obtained at two dollars per acre, without subjecting the purchaser to the settlement duties required in the railway belt.
- 1909  In all cases the settlement duty was insisted upon.
